I write heartwarming small-town romances and romantic women’s fiction filled with hope, second chances, and happily ever afters. My stories are clean and closed-door—which means you’ll find plenty of chemistry, but no explicit content.

What does “clean” or “closed-door” romance mean? Is “clean” different from “sweet?”
My stories focus on emotional connection, meaningful relationships, and tender moments, without sexual content, language, or violence. Think of them as Hallmark-level heat with deeper emotional layers and themes. While “sweet” used to be synonymous with “clean,” some spicy romance authors have started to use the term sweet to indicate a lighter tone while still including more explicit content, so the terms are no longer interchangeable. 

Where is Rachael Bloome from?

I grew up in the beautiful foothills of Northern California, surrounded by small towns that inspired the settings in my books. You’ll see pieces of my hometown (Mariposa, CA) woven into the streets of Poppy Creek and Blessings Bay!

Is Rachael Bloome a Christian or faith-based author?
While my books aren’t classified as “Christian fiction,” my faith naturally influences my writing. Readers often describe my stories as uplifting and grace-filled, with inspiring messages of hope and second chances. It’s my prayer that every reader sees His love on the pages of my novels, and that my personal testimony points to Him. 

What inspired Rachael Bloome to write small-town romances?

I’ve always loved the charm, connection, and sense of belonging found in small towns. Writing about cozy communities where people look out for one another feels like coming home—both for me and my readers.

In my novels, you’ll find a plethora of personal details, from my father’s proprietary coffee roasting process to Blessings on State, a beloved inn in Jacksonville, IL, run by a reader I met in my Facebook group. 

How did Rachael Bloome become an author?
My career as a bestselling author stemmed from a single idea for a Christmas novel. I’ve always loved reading and storytelling, and relished the challenge of putting pen to paper to craft that first novel. That single endeavor ignited a passion for writing I never expected, and one novel turned into an entire series.

What is the Blessings Bay series about?

Set on Northern California’s rugged coast, the Blessings Bay series blends seaside charm with the heartfelt emotion of found family. These stories explore healing, new beginnings, and the beauty of finding love—and belonging—after loss.

Will there be more books in the Poppy Creek or Blessings Bay series?
